Rules

Setup

  • Depending on the amount of participants, they will be divided into divisions and/or conferences in the first round.
  • Participants in divisions and conferences are grouped together by the standings of the previous pool results.
  • No more than 30 participants allowed.
  • Newcomers get added at the bottom and are ordered by their request to be entered.
  • Newcomers are considered newcomers if they were not involved in the previous pool.
  • Top participants from previous pool become top seeds. For example: 1 to 6 get placed in 1st position, 7 to 12 get placed in 2nd position, 13 to 18 get placed in 3rd position, 19 to 24 get placed in 4th position, 25 to 30 get placed in last position in each division within the conference.
  • If we encounter an unusual number of participants, divisions and conferences will be split up as equal as possible.
  • Depending on the amount of participants, divisions and conferences will be setup this way:

 

18, 24, 30 Participants

6 divisions, 2 conferences

Top seed in each division qualify for Second Round as well as best 2nd place team in each conference.

 

8, 12, 16, 20, 28 Participants

4 divisions, 2 conferences

Top 2 teams in each division qualify for Second Round.

 

10, 14, 22, 26 Participants

2 conferences

Top 4 teams in each conference qualify for Second Round.

 

9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29 Participants

1 conference

Top 8 teams in conference qualify for Second Round.

 

 

Each participant must pick their team of 23 players (12 Forwards, 8 Defensemen, 3 Goaltenders)

Substitutions

  • In the Second Round you’re allowed to substitute 6 players of any kind (Forward, Defensemen, Goalie)
  • The winners of the Second Round will advance to the Third Round
  • In the Third Round you’re allowed to substitute 6 players of any kind (Forward, Defensemen, Goalie)
  • 3rd place will be given to the losing team with the most points in the Third Round
  • The winners of the Third Round will advance to the Stanley Cup Final
  • In the Stanley Cup Final you’re allowed to substitute 6 players of any kind (Forward, Defensemen, Goalie)
  • You must maintain your 12 Forwards, 8 Defensemen, 3 Goaltenders formation when substituting.

  • You are to check for yourself if your subs were inputted correctly after you get a confirmation email from me that I received them.
  • If you notice mistakes after the games are over it will be considered to late and you will take blame for not double checking.
  • Everyone will start at 0 points when a new round begins.
  • I will email each of you before the next rounds begin.
  • If failure to respond before the next round begins you will continue on with the same players and receive a penalty of -2 points for the new round.
  • You’re free to pick whomever you want for the group round.
  • If you do not receive a reminder email from me that is no excuse because you should be following anyway.

31. If there is a tie in the first round there would be no previous round to break the tie. In this case we will flip a coin.
